Understanding the covenant of Answered Prayer

Scriptural reference:  1King 18:38, James 5:16-18 Jeremiah 33:3

We serve a prayer answering God according to 1 Kings 18:21-24 KJV

And call ye on the name of your gods, and I will call on the name of the LORD: and the God that answereth by fire, let him be God. And all the people answered and said, It is well spoken. - 1 Kings 18:24 KJV

But many of us don't know the right way to do so and we pray amiss. For us to procure answers to our prayers we must come to God according his will - James 4:3, 1 John 5:14

Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts. -  James 4:3

It is very important for us to understand also that we serve a covenant keeping God and for us to get our prayers answered there are covenant keys and steps we must strictly follow to ensures that our prayers is heard by God.

Covenant keys to Answered Prayer

1. We must repent and pray for forgiveness of sin so as to clear all the barriers and hindrance that will stop our prayer from reach God so as to enjoy supernatural access. (Isaiah 59:1-2 KJV) But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear (vs. 2).

2. We must engage the prayer of the faith (James 1:6-7) But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. (vs. 6).

And without the presence of the force of faith you can not receive answers (Mathew 21:22).

3. We must pray in faith in the name of Jesus. ( John 14: 13-14) Jesus speaking said " whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son (vs. 13)." (Acts 3:16)

4. We must pray according to the will of God in his word (1John 5:14).

5. We must pray earnestly, fervently,  and heartily (1 Samuel 1:15) "the effectual prayer of the righteous man availeth more" (James 5:16)

6. Be specific in your demands it is very important to do so (Mark 10: 46-51) the blind Bartimaeus in the bible was crying for Jesus to have mercy on him even though Jesus knew he was blind he responded to him saying " What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? (vs. 51).

7. We must pray with authority against all satanic strong hold ( Luke 10:19), (Daniel 10:12).

8. It is also important to pray with expectation ( Proverbs 23:18) as what you don't expect you are not permitted to receive.

9. Pray with thanksgiving (Phil 4:6) round up everything and let your requests be made known unto God with thanksgiving.

How to know your prayer is answered

1. When your faith say so ( Gal 3:14)

2. When the divine peace of God rules your heart (Phil 4:7)

3. When you have witness of the spirit that the matter is settled (Rom8:16).

4. When your spirit begins to celebrate God even when the answers come (1Peter 1:8).

Finally we must remain sending the spirit to know when our Peter is knocking at the door. (Acts 12:14)

In conclusion faith is a must for any prayer to be answered (Hebrew 11:6) as faith destroys doubt which in turn commit God to deliver (Rom 4:17-21)
